Approach Skis - getting you there!
Why another approach ski company?
Because we know that approach skis aren't for everybody and some folks will probably pick on us for the idea. However, once you use an Approach System you'll be a believer.
Our goal is to build lightweight, functional vehicles for skinning up so you can ride your 'solid' snowboard down.
We love splitboards and think they are a great choice for lots of tours and terrain. In fact we like our Spark R & D splitboard binding system so much we conceived our approach skis with those bindings in mind. Approach skis are a great addition to your mountain tool kit. When used with the OneBindingSystem your whole setup is lighter and easier to stow away on the up and down, eliminating the need carry multiple bindings. This system also ends the need for pulling and managing skins, does away with the tear down and assembly of a heavy split board. All while delivering the performance of a lightweight non-split snowboard.
